Marine, Ocean Wealth Summit and Seafest

The Government’s marine plan – Harnessing Our Ocean Wealth :  Deputy Hildegarde Naughton with An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar T.D. at Galway Seafest and Ocean Wealth Summit.

The Ocean Wealth Summit is a key event for the maritime sector, providing a discussion platform on the future of Ireland’s marine industry; with individual sessions addressing environmental, economic and societal opportunities and challenges to creating a sustainable ocean economy for Ireland.

The Ocean Wealth Summit consisted of a full programme of presentations, panel discussions, interactive sessions and key networking events.  Galway Harbour will host the summit which attracts up to 500 national and international delegates and high profile speakers in the area.  This is the largest gathering of Ireland’s marine and business communities.

The theme is ‘Investing in marine Ireland’ and the Ocean Wealth Summit will focus on development towards the Irish Government’s target to double the value of the marine economy by 2030.

The diverse programme is supported by a strong collaboration between Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), Bord Bia, Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, Fáilte Ireland, Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), Sustainable Energy Authority Ireland (SEAI) and the Marine Institute.
